1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/4 cups Progresso™ chicken broth (from 32-ounce carton)
2 cups cut-up cooked chicken or turkey
1 jar (2 ounces) diced pimientos, drained
3 cups hot cooked rice or 12 slices toasted baguette

Steps:

  • Melt butter in 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook bell pepper and mushrooms in butter, stirring occasionally, until bell pepper is crisp-tender.

1 (4.5 ounce) can mushrooms, drained, liquid reserved
1 green bell pepper, chopped
½ cup butter
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 ½ teaspoons chicken bouillon powder
1 ½ cups milk
1 ¼ cups hot water
4 cooked, boneless chicken breast halves, chopped
4 ounces chopped pimento

4 individually frozen biscuits
1-3/4 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/3 cup butter, cubed
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup whole milk
2 cups cubed cooked chicken
2 tablespoons diced pimientos

Steps:

  • Bake biscuits according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute the mushrooms, onion and celery in butter until crisp-tender. Stir in flour and salt until blended. 4 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup light cream
1/4 cup green pepper, Finely chopped
2 pimientos, chopped
1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, Sliced
2 egg yolks
2 tablespoons dry sherry

Steps:

  • In a double boiler, melt the butter. Add the green pepper, pimientos and mushrooms. Saute until soft.
  • Stir in the flour and the seasonings. Blend.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk and light cream.
  • Stirring occasionally, cook the mixture for 10 minutes, or until it has thickened.
  • Without stirring, turn heat down and cook gently for 10 minutes longer.
  • Whisk the egg yolks and sherry together. Add a bit of the hot sauce mix to the egg mix and whisk.
  • Add this mixture gradually to the sauce.

1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
⅔ cup water
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained

1 dash hot pepper sauce

1/4 green bell pepper, cored seeded and cut in short thin strips
1/4 lb mushroom, thinly sliced
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
2 cups milk
1 egg yolk, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons dry sherry, if desired

Steps:

  • In a large heavy-based saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add green and red pepper strips and sauté gently for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add the mushrooms; sauté over low heat until the peppers are soft. Add the flour, salt and pepper, then blend. Warm milk and pour into saucepan all at once, using a whisk to produce a smooth sauce.
