Tips:

  • Pork Chop Selection: Choose bone-in pork chops for extra flavor and juiciness. Look for chops that are about 1 inch thick and have a good amount of marbling.
  • Seasoning the Pork Chops: To enhance the flavor of the pork chops, season them generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. You can also add your favorite herbs and spices, such as paprika, cumin, or chili powder.
  • Sear the Pork Chops: Searing the pork chops over high heat creates a delicious crust and locks in the juices. Make sure your skillet is hot before adding the pork chops, and don't overcrowd the pan. Sear the chops for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are browned.
  • Cook the Pork Chops: After searing, reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking the pork chops until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F. This will ensure that the chops are cooked through without becoming dry.
  • Prepare the Mushroom Sauce: While the pork chops are cooking, prepare the mushroom sauce. Sauté the cremini mushrooms in butter until they are tender and browned. Add garlic, thyme, and white wine, and simmer until the wine has reduced by half. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, and season to taste.
  • Combine the Pork Chops and Mushroom Sauce: Once the pork chops and mushroom sauce are ready, combine them in a skillet and simmer for a few minutes, until the chops are coated in the sauce.
