EASY MICROWAVE BROWNIES

Easy microwave brownies image

Make these easy, fudgy brownies in under 15 minutes in the microwave. They're ideal when you need a quick and indulgent dessert.

Provided by Elaine Lemm

Categories     Dessert

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 8

150g salted butter
150g caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp milk
2 medium eggs, beaten
50g plain flour
75g unsweetened cocoa powder
80g milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Cut the butter into small pieces. Put in a 20 x 20cm microwavable glass or ceramic dish and cook in 20-second bursts in the microwave until melted. Remove, swirl it around the dish to coat the sides, then tip it into a mixing bowl.
  • Add the sugar to the bowl and, using a hand or electric whisk, whisk vigorously until the mixture is creamy and fully incorporated into the melted butter.
  • In a jug, stir the vanilla extract into the milk along with the beaten eggs. Whisk this, a little at a time, into the sugar and butter mixture, ensuring it's thoroughly incorporated before adding more.
  • Sift the flour and cocoa powder together, then fold gently into the cake batter. Finally, stir in the milk chocolate chips.
  • Tip the whole mix into the buttered dish and smooth using a spatula to fill the dish. Cook for 5 mins or until the brownies are well-risen and slightly firm to touch. Don't worry if they're still a bit soft in the centre; they will continue to cook for several minutes once out of the microwave.
  • Put the hot dish onto a cooling rack and leave for at least 20 mins to firm up. Cut into 8 squares. Will keep in an airtight container for three days.

Tips:

  • Use a large bowl. The batter will expand as it cooks, so make sure you have a bowl that is large enough to accommodate it.
  • Mix the ingredients thoroughly. This will help to ensure that the brownies are evenly cooked.
  • Do not overcook the brownies. Microwaving them for too long will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the brownies cool before cutting them. This will help to prevent them from falling apart.
  • Serve the brownies with your favorite toppings. Some popular options include ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce.
  • Substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour or coconut flour to make a gluten-free alternative.
  • Add chopped nuts, dried fruits, or chocolate chips to the batter for extra flavor and texture.
  • Experiment with different microwave power levels to find the perfect cooking time for your microwave.
  • Use a microwave-safe mug or ramekin instead of a bowl if you want individual brownies.

Conclusion:

These 3-minute microwave brownies are a quick and easy treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for a last-minute dessert or a midnight snack. With a few simple ingredients and a microwave, you can have delicious brownies in just minutes. So next time you have a craving for chocolate, give this recipe a try!
