Tips:
- Select the right zucchini: Choose firm and small zucchini with dark green skin. Avoid large or yellow ones, as they tend to be more bitter.
- Use a box grater to shred the zucchini: This method yields evenly shredded zucchini, which is essential for even cooking.
- Salt the zucchini: Salting the zucchini draws out excess moisture, preventing the bake from becoming watery.
- Squeeze out the excess moisture from the zucchini: This step is crucial to ensure a firm and flavorful bake.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly: Make sure the zucchini, ricotta, eggs, and seasonings are evenly combined.
- Use a 9x13 inch baking dish: This size is ideal for the quantity of ingredients in the recipe.
- Bake the zucchini ricotta bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45-50 minutes: Keep an eye on the bake to prevent overcooking.
- Let the bake cool slightly before serving: This allows the flavors to meld and the bake to set.
