"My husband loves pork chops. They're a good source of lean protein and it's easy to change the flavor by using different spices. I created this marinade based on a few I saw in Healthy Cooking." Jackie Termont - Richmond, Virginia

Time 25m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons white wine or 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium chicken broth
4 teaspoons olive oil, divided
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1/4 teaspoon dill weed
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 boneless pork loin chops (4 oz. each)

Steps:

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the vinegar, wine, 1 tsp oil, chili powder, horseradish, dill, garlic powder, and salt. Add the pork chops. Seal bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate for eight hours or overnight, turning occasionally.
  • Drain and discard marinade. In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook chops in remaining oil for 4-5 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees.

Tips:

  • Choose the right pork chops: For this recipe, it's best to use boneless, center-cut pork chops that are about 1 inch thick.
  • Make sure the marinade is flavorful: The marinade is what gives the pork chops their zesty flavor, so make sure it's packed with flavor. Use a combination of citrus juices, herbs, and spices to create a marinade that you'll love.
  • Let the pork chops marinate for at least 30 minutes: The longer the pork chops marinate, the more flavorful they will be. If you're short on time, you can marinate them for as little as 30 minutes, but the longer you marinate them, the better.
  • Cook the pork chops over medium heat: Cooking the pork chops over medium heat will help to prevent them from drying out. If you cook them over too high heat, they will brown too quickly and become tough.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the pork chops: The pork chops are done cooking when they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.

Conclusion:

These zesty marinated pork chops are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. The pork chops are tender and juicy, and the marinade gives them a flavor that is out of this world. Serve them with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
