Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9x5 loaf pan with nonstick spray. Using a pastry brush, brush the spray all over the loaf pan to make sure it is covered up the sides and in the corners. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined. Add the cheddar cheese and stir it together so the cheese is coated in the flour mixture. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the milk and egg; pour into the dry mixture and stir it until just combined (a few dry spots are okay.) Add in the melted butter and mix it in until everything is combined and there are no dry patches.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the bread is baking, make the topping: whisk together the butter, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, and dried parsley.
- Remove loaf pan from the oven and set on a wire rack to cool slightly. Immediately brush the bread with the butter topping.
- Let the bread cool for 5 minutes in the pan then take it out of the pan and cool completely on the wire rack.
- Slice and serve.

I found this recipe in a magazine while waiting in a doctor's office. It looked so good, I made it that evening with dinner. This is tasty & quick, and I would imagine you could experiment with any number of seasonings to go with a variety of menus. These can also be baked separately on a cookie sheet instead of the loaf pan.

Tips:
- Use buttermilk for a tangy flavor: Buttermilk adds a slight tanginess and richness to the cheese biscuit loaf, making it extra flavorful. If you don't have buttermilk on hand, you can make your own by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of regular milk and letting it sit for 5 minutes.
- Grate the cheese finely: Grating the cheese finely will help it distribute evenly throughout the batter and melt smoothly. This will result in a more uniform and flavorful loaf.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the biscuits tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined, and be careful not to overwork the dough.
- Bake the loaf until golden brown: The loaf is done baking when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The top of the loaf should also be golden brown.
- Let the loaf cool slightly before slicing: Letting the loaf cool slightly before slicing will help it hold its shape and prevent it from crumbling.
Conclusion:
This zesty cheese biscuit loaf is a delicious and versatile bread that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's perfect for a quick and easy meal, or it can be dressed up for a special occasion. With its cheesy, tangy flavor and tender crumb, this loaf is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
