EASY YUMMY BANANA CREAM PUDDING

Easy Yummy Banana Cream Pudding image

Made with cooked pudding this is a little more labor intensive but still very easy and very yummy. Make the pudding one evening and put the pudding together the next day so it has some time in the refrigerator to soften the cookies and mellow the flavors. I brought a recipe of this to a BBQ a couple of weeks ago. There were only ten people there but I honestly think I could have made three recipes of this and not had anything leftover. UPDATE: I made this for my MIL's Memorial and it was a hit. It gave a sweet touch to a sad day.

Time 40m

Yield 1 pudding, 8-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups cold water
4 ounces vanilla pudding mix (not instant)
12 ounces Cool Whip
3 bananas, sliced
14 ounces vanilla wafers (Zaar insisted on a size and I guessed since I don't have a box of Nilla's around)

Steps:

  • Cook the condensed milk, water and pudding mix whisking all the time until it boils hard, remove from heat, lay plastic wrap on top to prevent skin and chill.
  • Fold the cool whip into the pudding.
  • In glass bowl layer the bottom with cookies top side facing out.
  • Layer bananas on top of the cookies.
  • Layer pudding mix on top of bananas.
  • Stick a layer of cookies up on edge, tops facing out, in a ring around your bowl so it looks pretty through the glass.
  • Repeat the layers ending with a layer of pudding and then topped with a layer of cookies. Be gentle and take your time with the layers to keep everything neat.
  • (You should use up all the cookies and banana slices except for the few you just had to eat.).
  • Cover with plastic wrap and chill at least overnight.

YUMMY BANANA PUDDING

I wanted something rich and creamy for a group I was hosting. This is what I came up with after looking at several different recipes. I hope you enjoy it as much as everyone I have served it to does. It will also work well as a coconut or pineapple pudding recipe.

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 box sugar free vanilla instant pudding
1 box regular vanilla instant pudding
1 can(s) 14 oz condensed milk
10 oz ice cold water
1 1/2 c milk
8 oz whipped topping, thawed
1 box vanilla wafers
3-4 ripe bananas sliced into rounds

Steps:

  • 1. Blend together the condensed milk, water, and milk set to the side.
  • 2. Pour the 3 boxes of pudding into a large mixing bowl. Add the milk mixture and blend well. When the pudding mixture thickens blend in the whipped topping. Make sure it is mixed together completely.
  • 3. Layer the bottom of a 9 x 12 baking dish with the vanilla wafers. Put a slice of banana on top of each cookie. Pour 1/2 of the pudding over the cookies and bananas spreading evenly. Make another layer of cookies and bananas on top of the pudding and pour the rest of the pudding on top and spread evenly. Small swirls or peaks can be made.
  • 4. Crush a few of the Vanilla wafers and sprinkle on top for eye appeal.
  • 5. Chill covered for 3-4 hour and then serve

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your pudding will be.
  • Mash the bananas well: Make sure to mash the bananas until they are completely smooth. This will help the pudding to have a creamy texture.
  • Use full-fat milk: Whole milk will give your pudding a richer, creamier flavor. You can use low-fat or nonfat milk if you prefer, but the pudding will be less creamy.
  • Cook the pudding slowly: Be patient and cook the pudding over low heat. This will help to prevent it from curdling.
  • Chill the pudding thoroughly: Once the pudding is cooked, let it cool completely before chilling it in the refrigerator. This will help the pudding to set and thicken.

Conclusion:

Banana pudding is a classic Southern dessert that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its creamy texture, sweet banana flavor, and vanilla wafer cookies, it's the perfect dessert for any occasion. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy dessert, give banana pudding a try. You won't be disappointed!
