Steps:
- 1. This recipe could be halved. I made for 20 people and very little left. Empty beans into a medium sized roaster or casserole dish. Mix in all other ingredients, then taste to see if you need any adjusting...I just keep tasting as I add...
- 2. Bake in a 375 degree oven, for 2 - 2 1/2 hours or until desired thickness, ( stirring occasionally ) I take out of oven when still a little bit runny, as they will continue thickening as they sit. These are great served right away or even cold. They were a big hit at my party...enjoy!
EASY, AND YUMMY BAKED BEANS
Steps:
- You decide on the proportions to your taste. Start with a little of everything and then add more as you continue. Some people like sweet beans some like spicy. Open beans and put in larger saucepan. Drain and add butterbeans. Fry bacon slightly crisp, chop up and add. Saute onions in bacon fat until translucent. Add bacon and onion to the beans. Next, add 2 TBS of ketchup, 2 tsp of mustard , 1 tsp of molasses, and a couple of dashes of tabasco and worcestershire sauce. Stir until blended. Let simmer on low for 20 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings according to your taste.Do not overcook because the beans will be mushy. Great side dish with hamburgers, or hot dogs, or vegetarian entree if you leave the bacon out.
