Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: To obtain the finest flavor and texture, make sure all ingredients are fresh, especially the graham crackers, butter, cream cheese, and chocolate chips.
  • Pay attention to the baking time: Different ovens may have different heating characteristics, so keep an eye on the baking bars and adjust the cooking time as needed. Overbaking can result in dry, crumbly bars.
  • Chill the bars before serving: This helps the bars set properly and enhances their flavor and texture. Chilling also makes them easier to cut into clean, neat squares.
  • Decorate as desired: To add a personal touch and make the bars more visually appealing, consider garnishing them with additional chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup before serving.
  • Store leftovers properly: Keep any leftover yum yum squares in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze them for up to 2 months; thaw them overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
