Tips:

  • Choose fresh green beans: Look for green beans that are bright green and crisp. Avoid beans that are limp or have brown spots.
  • Trim the green beans: Trim the ends of the green beans before cooking. You can also remove the strings from the beans if desired.
  • Blanch the green beans: Blanching the green beans helps to preserve their color and crispness. To blanch the beans, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Immediately transfer the beans to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  • Sear the green beans in a wok: Heat a large wok or skillet over high heat. Add the green beans and cook, stirring constantly, for 3-4 minutes, or until they are browned and blistered.
  • Add the sauce: Add the sesame sauce to the wok and stir to coat the green beans. Cook for an additional minute, or until the sauce is heated through.
  • Garnish and serve: Garnish the green beans with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately.
