½ cup butter
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  • In medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Remove from heat and immediately stir in the cocoa. In a large bowl, beat together the sugar and eggs. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the batter. Fold in walnuts if desired. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the top has crusted over. You want the tester to come out a with a little batter on it, not completely clean. Cool for a few minutes before cutting into bars.

Tips:

  • Use good quality chocolate. The better the chocolate, the better the brownies. Look for chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
  • Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing will result in tough, chewy brownies. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached. Overbaking will result in dry, crumbly brownies.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them. This will help them to hold their shape.
  • Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the brownies for up to 2 months.

Conclusion:

These wicked brownies are the perfect dessert for any occasion. They are rich, fudgy, and chocolatey, with a crispy crust and a chewy interior. Follow the tips above to make sure your brownies turn out perfect every time.

Here are some additional tips for making wicked brownies:

  • For extra fudgy brownies, use melted chocolate instead of cocoa powder.
  • Add chopped nuts, dried fruit, or candy to the batter for a fun twist.
  • Top the brownies with a layer of chocolate ganache or whipped cream for a decadent dessert.
  • Serve the brownies warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate indulgence.
