Tips for Making Whole Wheat Herb Bread:

  • Use Fresh Herbs: Fresh herbs offer a more intense flavor compared to dried ones. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, use 1/3 of the amount of dried herbs.
  • Don't Overwork the Dough: Overworking the dough can result in a tough and dense bread. Mix the dough just until it comes together, and then let it rest.
  • Let the Dough Rise Properly: The dough should rise until it doubles in size. This usually takes about 1 hour in a warm place.
  • Bake the Bread at a High Temperature: A high baking temperature creates a crispy crust and a soft, fluffy interior.
  • Let the Bread Cool Before Slicing: Allow the bread to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the bread to set and prevents it from crumbling.

Conclusion:

Whole wheat herb bread is a delicious and nutritious bread option that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With its slightly nutty flavor and aromatic herbs, this bread is sure to become a favorite. Experiment with different herb combinations to create a bread that suits your taste. For a more savory bread, try adding herbs like rosemary, thyme, or sage. For a sweeter bread, try adding herbs like basil, oregano, or marjoram.
