Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 shallot, sliced
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 cup dry white wine
2 tablespoons heavy cream
2 sticks cold unsalted butter, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh chives, plus more for garnish
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup canola oil
2 tablespoons Spanish paprika
6 cloves garlic, finely chopped to a paste
3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh thyme leaves
16 extra colossal shrimp (4 to 6 per pound size), peeled and deveined
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Basil Oil, for drizzling

Steps:

  • For the white wine sauce:
  • Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the shallots and the garlic and cook until soft, about 1 minute. Increase the heat to high, add the wine, bring to a boil and cook until reduced by half. Add the cream and slowly start whisking in the cold butter, piece by piece and continue to whisk until the sauce is emulsified. Strain into a bowl and stir in the chives. Season with salt and pepper, to taste, and set aside.
  • For the shrimp:
  • Whisk together the oil, paprika, garlic and thyme in a large bowl; add the shrimp and toss to coat the shrimp in the mixture. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Heat the grill to high.
  • Season the shrimp with salt and pepper and grill until slightly charred and just cooked through, about 2 1/2 minutes per side. Put some of the sauce on a large platter, drizzle with Basil Oil and top with the shrimp. Drizzle with more of the sauce; garnish with chives and serve.

After trying many seafood dishes I have combined my favorite spices and ingredients into this simple dish. If you desire you can use 1 lb shrimp and 1 lb lobster or crab meat or clams. There is no way to go wrong with any seafood combo.I hope the seafood lovers enjoy this recipe! Note: If you add more wine it becomes less creamy.

WHITE WINE GARLIC SHRIMP

Categories     Pasta     Shellfish     Dinner

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 tablespoons Butter
6 Minced garlic cloves
1 package Prawns
1/2 cup White wine
5 ounces Sun dried tomatoes
3/4 cup Half and half
3 cups Spinach
1 teaspoon Pepper
3/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Cook garlic in butter and add prawns; brown and cook prawns through. Remove prawns.
  • Add wine to pan and heat to a boil. Add sun dried tomatoes and cream.
  • Thicken cream sauce and add spinach. Add pepper to taste and then finish with the parmesan.
  • Return prawns to sauce and heat through. Serve with spaghetti, linguine, or fettucine.

Tips:

  • Use fresh shrimp: Fresh shrimp has a sweeter, more delicate flavor than frozen shrimp. If you're using frozen shrimp, thaw it in the refrigerator overnight or under cold running water for about 30 minutes.
  • Use a good quality white wine: The wine you use will contribute to the flavor of the dish, so choose a wine that you enjoy drinking. A dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, is a good choice.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: If you overcrowd the pan, the shrimp will steam instead of sautéing. Cook the shrimp in batches if necessary.
  • Cook the shrimp until they are just opaque: Overcooked shrimp are tough and rubbery. Cook the shrimp for just a few minutes, until they are opaque and slightly pink in the center.
  • Serve the shrimp immediately: Shrimp are best served immediately after they are cooked. If you need to keep them warm, place them in a covered dish in a warm oven.

Conclusion:

White wine garlic shrimp is a quick, easy, and delicious dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great dish to serve at a party or potluck. The shrimp are tender and flavorful, and the sauce is rich and creamy. If you are looking for a new shrimp recipe to try, I highly recommend this one.
