Time 30m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons minced onions
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 cups half-and-half
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups parmesan cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • In large saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat.
  • Add onion and garlic and cook for 4 minutes, stirring frequently, or until onion is tender.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low.
  • Add flour, and cook, whisking constantly for 2 minutes.
  • Gradually add half-and-half, whisking constantly, for 8-10 minutes or just until mixture comes to a boil.
  • Remove from heat, and stir in nutmeg, salt and pepper.
  • Add cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  • Serve with pasta, vegetables, chicken or seafood.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Fresh garlic, good-quality white wine, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese will make a big difference.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the chicken. This will prevent it from cooking evenly.
  • Cook the chicken until it is cooked through, but not overcooked. Overcooked chicken will be dry and tough.
  • Add the white wine and let it reduce by half before adding the cream. This will help to concentrate the flavor of the wine.
  • Don't let the sauce boil once you've added the cream. This will cause the sauce to separate.
  • Garnish the finished dish with fresh parsley or chives for a pop of color and flavor.

Conclusion:

This white wine garlic Alfredo sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make sauce that is perfect for pasta, chicken, or seafood. It is also a great way to use up leftover white wine. With its rich, creamy flavor and subtle garlic and white wine notes, this sauce is sure to please everyone at your table.
