Tips:

  • To achieve the smoothest texture, use russet potatoes. They're known for their high starch content, which helps create a creamy filling.
  • Don't overcook the potatoes. They should be fork-tender but still hold their shape.
  • For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of milk. You can also add a tablespoon of sour cream or cream cheese for extra creaminess.
  • Be generous with the seasonings. The pie filling should be well-seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. You can also add other herbs and spices to your taste.
  • Don't overmix the filling. Overmixing can make the filling tough.
  • Bake the pie until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. This usually takes about 45 minutes.
  • Let the pie cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This will help the filling set and make it easier to slice.

White potato pie is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as a main course or a side dish. It's also a great way to use up leftover potatoes. With its creamy filling and flaky crust, this pie is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a new and exciting recipe, give white potato pie a try.
