WHITE CHOCOLATE CRANBERRY-ORANGE BARS

White Chocolate Cranberry-Orange Bars image

This is my take on my mother's recipe for chocolate chunk bars, which she made every Christmas Eve. Our family is scattered across the country now; making these reminds me of home. If you don't have a pastry cutter, you can use two sharp knifes or a potato masher. My mom makes this with semisweet chocolate chunks. -Erin Powell, Amarillo, Texas

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all the ingredients and equipment you need. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling during the baking process.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your white chocolate craisin bars will taste. Look for fresh, plump cranberries and high-quality white chocolate.
  • Chill the Dough: Chilling the dough before baking helps to prevent the bars from spreading too much. This will help them hold their shape and give them a more even texture.
  • Don't Overbake: Keep an eye on the bars while they're baking. Overbaking can dry them out and make them crumbly.
  • Cool Completely: Let the bars cool completely before cutting them into squares. This will help them set properly and prevent them from falling apart.

Conclusion:

These white chocolate craisin bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. With their sweet and tangy flavor, they're sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a tasty snack or dessert, give these bars a try. You won't be disappointed!
