It's fun to take a yellow cake mix and create something that is this rich and wonderful. We like eating the bars when they are cold, right out of the refrigerator. They're ideal with a tall glass of milk. -LaDonna Reed, Ponca City, Oklahoma

Tips:

  • Make sure the white chocolate chips are finely chopped. This will help them distribute evenly throughout the bars and prevent them from sinking to the bottom.
  • If you don't have a candy thermometer, you can check the caramel's doneness by dropping a small amount into a glass of cold water. If it forms a hard ball, the caramel is ready.
  • Be careful not to overcook the caramel. Overcooked caramel will be too hard and brittle.
  • For a neater appearance, use a sharp knife to cut the bars into even squares.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

White Chip Caramel Bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are sure to be a hit with family and friends. With their buttery shortbread crust, gooey caramel filling, and sweet white chocolate chips, these bars are a delightful combination of flavors and textures.
