Yield 4 steaks

Number Of Ingredients 6

⅓ c Scotch Whiskey
¼ c Brown sugar
⅓ c Soy sauce (I use lighter in sodium)
2 T Dijon mustard
½ Onion fined chopped
4 New York Strip Steaks, trimmed

Steps:

  • Mix together all the ingredients, except for steak and put either in a larger container with a lid or a large sealable plastic bag. Add steaks and marinate overnight in the refrigerator. Broil or Grill to desired doneness.

Tips:

  • Choose a high-quality steak for the best results. Look for a steak that is at least 1 inch thick and has good marbling.
  • Use a sharp knife to score the steak before marinating. This will help the marinade penetrate the meat more deeply.
  • Allow the steak to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight. The longer the steak marinates, the more flavor it will absorb.
  • Cook the steak over high heat to sear the outside and keep the inside juicy. A cast iron skillet is a great option for cooking steak.
  • Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the meat.

Conclusion:

Whiskey marinated steak is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. The whiskey marinade adds a rich and smoky flavor to the steak, while the tenderizing enzymes in the whiskey help to break down the meat and make it extra juicy. Whether you are grilling, pan-frying, or baking your steak, this marinade is sure to produce a flavorful and succulent dish. So next time you are looking for a new way to cook steak, give this whiskey marinade a try.
