WHIPPED CREAM BISCUITS

I love homemade biscuits -and make some good ones from scratch. However, I have used this recipe on and off since I saw it on the side of a Bisquick box over 15 years ago. Only 2 ingredients make these easy and scrumptious biscuits. Everyone remarks how flaky and good they are -and can't believe it when I tell them how easy...

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 2

2 c bisquick baking mix
2/3 c whipping cream

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 450 degrees.
  • 2. Mix baking mix and whipping cream until soft dough forms. Turn onto cloth-covered board well dusted with baking mix. Gently roll in baking mix to coat; shape into ball. Knead 10 times. Roll or pat 1/2 inch thick.
  • 3. CUT with 2-inch biscuit cutter dipped in baking mix. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until golden brown, approximately 10-12 minutes.
  • 4. Serve with butter and/or your favorite jelly, honey or other condiment.
  • 5. DO-AHEAD TIP: Before baking, biscuits can be cut with cutter, covered and refrigerated up to 4 hours.

Tips:

  • Use cold butter and heavy cream: Chilling the butter and heavy cream before using will help keep the biscuits light and flaky.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make the biscuits tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Roll the dough out evenly: Roll the dough out to an even thickness so that the biscuits bake evenly.
  • Cut the biscuits close together: Cutting the biscuits close together will help them rise evenly and prevent gaps between them.
  • Bake the biscuits in a hot oven: Baking the biscuits in a hot oven will help them rise quickly and develop a golden brown crust.

Conclusion:

Whipped cream biscuits are a delicious and versatile breakfast or dinner bread. They are easy to make and can be served with a variety of toppings, such as butter, jam, or gravy. With the right ingredients and a little practice, you can make perfect whipped cream biscuits every time.
