Time 10m

Yield 4 glasses, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 cups cubed seedless watermelon
1 cup crushed ice
1 cup sherbet (watermelon, raspberry or lime)
4 teaspoons lime juice
2 teaspoons semisweet mini chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Chill the glasses if you'd like to really impress your guests and if impressing isn't important, you can skip this step!
  • Combine all but the chips in a blender; process for 30 seconds; scrape sides & stir if necessary.
  • Pour mixture into (un)chilled glasses; sprinkle chips and serve.
  • Viola! You are soooo cool!
  • And now I am too!

Tips:

  • Choose ripe watermelon: Use a ripe, juicy watermelon for the best flavor. A ripe watermelon will have a deep red color, a firm rind, and a hollow sound when you tap it.
  • Chill the watermelon: Chilling the watermelon before blending will help to create a smooth, icy sherbet-like texture.
  • Add sweetener to taste: The amount of sweetener you need will depend on the sweetness of your watermelon. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Use fresh lime juice: Fresh lime juice will add a bright, citrusy flavor to your smoothies. If you don't have fresh lime juice, you can use bottled lime juice, but it may not be as flavorful.
  • Add a scoop of Greek yogurt: Greek yogurt will add a creamy texture and a boost of protein to your smoothies. If you don't have Greek yogurt, you can use regular yogurt or even cottage cheese.
  • Serve immediately: Watermelon sherbet smoothies are best served immediately after they are made. They will start to melt and lose their icy texture if they sit for too long.

Conclusion:

Watermelon sherbet smoothies are a refreshing and healthy way to cool down on a hot summer day. They are also a great way to get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a delicious and nutritious smoothie that the whole family will enjoy.
