WASABI SOUR CREAM

Wasabi Sour Cream image

Provided by Robin Miller : Food Network

Categories     condiment

Time 1m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 2

1/2 cup light sour cream
1 tablespoon wasabi paste

Steps:

  • Combine ingredients and mix until blended.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use fresh wasabi. If you can't find fresh wasabi, you can use prepared wasabi paste, but be sure to use a good quality brand.
  • Make sure to use heavy cream for this recipe. Lighter creams will not whip up as well and will result in a thinner sauce.
  • Don't over-whip the cream. You want it to be stiff but not grainy.
  • If you find that the sauce is too spicy, you can add a little more cream or sour cream to mellow it out.
  • Wasabi cream can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. However, it's best to make it fresh when you're ready to use it.

Conclusion:

Wasabi cream is a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used as a condiment for sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes. It can also be used as a dipping sauce for vegetables, crackers, or chips. The spicy flavor of wasabi is balanced out by the richness of the cream, making it a perfect sauce for those who enjoy a little bit of heat in their food.
