BAKED APPLE PUDDING

Baked Apple Pudding image

Another delicious recipe by Lucy Waverman, Food and Drink! Steamed puddings have fallen out of fashion but try this oven-baked pudding - a light, apple-based dessert that will be enjoyed by young and old as a grand finale to Christmas dinner, or any dinner for that matter. With it, you can serve a caramel sauce and a crème anglaise or just plain old-fashioned ice cream.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: For this recipe, it's best to use a firm, tart apple like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. These apples will hold their shape well and provide a nice contrast to the sweet maple syrup.
  • Don't overcook the apples: You want the apples to be tender but still have a little bit of a bite to them. Overcooking them will make them mushy.
  • Use a good quality maple syrup: The maple syrup is the star of this dish, so it's important to use a good quality syrup. Look for a syrup that is dark and flavorful.
  • Serve the pudding warm: This pudding is best served warm, right out of the oven. You can also serve it cold, but it's not quite as good.

Conclusion:

Warm maple apple pudding is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and always a hit with family and friends. The combination of sweet maple syrup, tart apples, and creamy custard is simply irresistible. So next time you're looking for a delicious and comforting dessert, give this warm maple apple pudding a try. You won't be disappointed.
