I have made this for many years. At Christmas time I replace the blueberries/raspberries with cranberries for a festive look.

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 large sourdough loaf
2 lb brie cheese, trimmed & cubed
1/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c pecans, chopped & toasted
1/2 c pine nuts, toasted
1/2 c blueberries
1/2 c raspberries

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Slice the top off the bread. Save the top and hollow out the inside of the loaf by taking out large chunks of bread. Save bread chunks to serve later.
  • 2. Combine brie, nuts, brown sugar and berries. Place inside the hollowed out loaf and cover with the bread top. Wrap the whole thing in foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  • 3. Serve with baguette slices, reserved chunks of bread, crackers or veggies.

Tips:

  • Use ripe berries: Fresh, ripe berries will give your dip the best flavor and texture. If you can't find fresh berries, frozen berries will also work.
  • Don't overcook the brie: Brie is a soft cheese that can easily overcook. Bake the brie just until it is melted and gooey in the center.
  • Use a variety of crackers: Serve your brie dip with a variety of crackers, such as water crackers, wheat crackers, or fruit crackers. This will give your guests a choice of flavors and textures.
  • Garnish with herbs: Garnish your brie dip with fresh herbs, such as thyme, rosemary, or chives. This will add a pop of color and flavor.
