Tips:

  • To make the pie crust, use a food processor or pastry blender to combine the flour, butter, and salt until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Then, add the ice water one tablespoon at a time until the dough just comes together. Be careful not to overwork the dough, as this will make it tough.
  • When rolling out the pie dough, use a lightly floured surface and a rolling pin to roll the dough out to a 12-inch circle. If the dough is too sticky, chill it for 30 minutes before rolling it out.
  • To prevent the pie crust from shrinking during baking, trim the edges of the dough so that they are even. Then, prick the bottom of the dough with a fork and chill it for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  • To make the pie filling, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl. Then, add the cooked bacon, sausage, cheese, and hash browns and stir to combine.
  • To assemble the pie, place the bottom pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate. Pour the filling into the pie crust and top with the remaining pie crust. Crimp the edges of the pie crust together and bake the pie for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
