Tips:

  • Use fresh lemons: Fresh lemons provide the best flavor and aroma for lemon bread. Choose lemons that are heavy for their size and have a bright yellow color.
  • Zest the lemons before juicing them: Zesting the lemons before juicing them will give you more flavorful lemon zest. Use a Microplane zester or a fine grater to remove the zest from the lemons.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy: This will help to incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a lighter and more tender bread.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition: This will help to prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three additions, alternating with milk: This will help to prevent the batter from becoming too thick.
  • Do not overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will result in a tough bread.
  • Bake the bread in a preheated oven: This will help to ensure that the bread bakes evenly.
  • Let the bread cool before slicing and serving: This will help to prevent the bread from crumbling.

Conclusion:

Lemon bread is a classic quick bread that is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. It is easy to make and can be customized with different flavors, such as poppy seeds, blueberries, or raspberries. With its bright citrus flavor and tender crumb, lemon bread is a surefire hit with everyone who tries it.
