1/4 cup vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 -4 tablespoons pure maple syrup
18 pecan halves, for garnish
