Tips:

  • To make the shortcake biscuits extra flaky, use cold butter and grate it into the flour mixture. This will create small pockets of butter that will melt and steam in the oven, creating a light and fluffy biscuit.
  • If you don't have a pastry cutter, you can use two forks to work the butter into the flour mixture. Just be sure to keep the butter cold and work quickly so that it doesn't melt.
  • Be careful not to overmix the biscuit dough. Overmixing will make the biscuits tough.
  • When cutting out the biscuits, use a sharp knife or biscuit cutter. This will help to create clean edges and prevent the biscuits from sticking together.
  • Bake the biscuits in a hot oven until they are golden brown and cooked through. This will usually take about 10-12 minutes.
  • While the biscuits are baking, make the strawberry filling. To make the filling extra juicy, use fresh, ripe strawberries. You can also add a little bit of sugar or honey to taste.
  • Once the biscuits and strawberry filling are both cooled, assemble the shortcakes. Place a biscuit on the bottom, top with a scoop of strawberry filling, and then another biscuit. Repeat with the remaining biscuits and filling.
  • Serve the shortcakes immediately, or store them in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Conclusion:

This Valentine's Strawberry Shortcake is the perfect dessert for any special occasion. It's easy to make and absolutely delicious. The combination of sweet, juicy strawberries and fluffy biscuits is irresistible. So next time you're looking for a special dessert, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
