VALENTINE CANDY CONES

Valentine Candy Cones image

These are so neat! My sister sent me pictures of these, and they are just darling! She is making them for Valentine's Day with her grandkids. Really cute thing to do with kids. You could probably make things for other holidays such as little eggs for an Easter cone,or candy corn for a Thanksgiving cone! They're really easy and would take no time at all. Note** the amounts of M&M's are a guestimate. You can use more or less accordingly.

10-MINUTE VALENTINES CANDIES

10-Minute Valentines Candies image

These gorgeously gourmet candies only take 3 ingredients and a few minutes of work! I was going to make a kind of peppermint bark for my friends (it was such a hit during the holidays), but they morphed into these once I realized I had no candycanes. Just as delicious!

Time 25m

Yield 20 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

white chocolate (however much you want- you can imagine how much it'll make)
red food coloring
2 tablespoons Crisco shortening

Steps:

  • Melt the white chocolate and shortening in a double-boiler (or the microwave, if you're extremely careful not to burn!).
  • Pour onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper. Drop a few drops of red food coloring onto the chocolate, scattered around. Swirl the coloring with a fork.
  • Once the chocolate is starting set (you'll know because it won't be so shiny), you can take a toothpick and cut out heart shapes. They might look kind of messy, but you can clean them up once they're removed. Once dry, break up the chocolate around the hearts. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Carefully melt the chocolate: Overheating the chocolate can cause it to seize and become unusable. To prevent this, melt the chocolate slowly and gently, stirring constantly.
  • Use high-quality chocolate: The better the quality of the chocolate, the better your candy cones will taste. Look for chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
  • Be patient: Making candy cones takes time and patience. Don't rush the process, or you'll end up with misshapen or broken cones.
  • Use a variety of toppings: Get creative with your toppings! You can use anything from chopped nuts and sprinkles to dried fruit and candy pieces.
  • Make ahead: Candy cones can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Candy cones are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for any occasion. They're easy to make and can be customized to suit your own taste. With a little creativity, you can create beautiful and unique candy cones that are sure to impress your friends and family. So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give candy cones a try!
