VACUUM CLEANER BAR COOKIES

This is a great recipe given to me by a man at work. His wife is a great cook. These little bar cookies are so yummy and easy to make. Cookies are very rich so I cut into small pieces. They are so good that they will be gone in a flash (i.e. sucked up...as in vacuum cleaner). Thank you Pam & Jay for sharing this recipe with me!

These are sinfully rich and always a hit at potlucks. The person I got the recipe from said they are called Neiman Marcus bars because the ingredients are expensive (I think she was talking about the 2 cups of pecans).

Time 1h10m

Yield 16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 (18 1/4 ounce) box yellow cake mix
3 eggs
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 lb powdered sugar
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Combine butter, cake mix, and 1 egg; stir until all is moist.
  • Pat mixture into bottom of a well greased 9x13 pan; set aside.
  • Beat remaining 2 eggs lightly; add in cream cheese and powdered sugar. Beat a low/medium speed until all incorporated.
  • Stir in coconut and chopped nuts.
  • Pour over crust and spread into an even layer.
  • Bake 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cool on wire rack or in fridge for firmer bars.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use a high-quality vacuum cleaner motor. A powerful motor will ensure that the cookies are evenly mixed and baked.
  • Be sure to use a clean vacuum cleaner bag or filter. A dirty bag or filter will not allow the motor to function properly and could result in undercooked cookies.
  • Do not overmix the dough. Overmixing will make the cookies tough.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking will make the cookies dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.

Conclusion:

Vacuum cleaner bar cookies are a fun and easy treat that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients and a vacuum cleaner, you can make delicious cookies that your family and friends will love. So next time you're craving a sweet treat, give vacuum cleaner bar cookies a try!
