Steps:
- 1. Press brown sugar tightly in bottom of loaf pan. Spread ketchup evenly on top of the brown sugar.
- 2. In a separate bowl, thoroughly mix the rest of the ingredients. Form into a loaf and place on top of the brown sugar/ketchup in the loaf pan.
- 3. Bake meatloaf in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until juices run clear.
- 4. To serve, invert loaf pan on serving dish. Allow just a moment for all of the juices to flow down over the meatloaf onto the serving dish. Slice to desired thickness. Serve with your favorite creamed potatoes. The "gravy" from the meatloaf on your creamed potatoes is to die for!!! Bon apetite!
UPSIDE DOWN MEATLOAF
A great meatloaf that glazes itself while it bakes. When turned out onto platter, sauce that baked on the bottom will be on the top. Very easy and delicious!

Tips:
- Use a flavorful ground beef blend: A combination of ground chuck, ground sirloin, and ground pork provides a delicious and moist meatloaf.
- Don't overmix the meatloaf mixture: Overmixing can make the meatloaf tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Season the meatloaf generously: Use a variety of spices and herbs to flavor the meatloaf. Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and dried oregano are all good choices.
- Add moisture to the meatloaf mixture: Breadcrumbs, eggs, and milk help to keep the meatloaf moist. You can also add grated vegetables, such as carrots or zucchini, to add moisture and flavor.
- Cook the meatloaf in a loaf pan: A loaf pan will help to hold the meatloaf together while it cooks. You can also cook the meatloaf in a Dutch oven or a slow cooker.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing it: This will help the meatloaf to hold together and prevent it from falling apart.
Conclusion:
An upside-down meatloaf is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal.
