THE ULTIMATE CREAMY BLUE CHEESE DRESSING & DIP

The Ultimate Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing & Dip image

I have discovered Blue Cheese Dressing & Dip nirvana! I have yet to find a ready made that I like. I came up with this when serving Buffalo Chicken Wings last week. Why start from scratch when you can cheat?! :D Super simple and full of garlicy goodness & blue cheese. Great as a salad dressing, raw veggie dip, Buffalo Chicken Wings, etc. I have listed the full 12 ounce jar of Marie's Caesar dressing and 5 oz container of blue cheese. Use as much or as little of each ingredients as you like. The bottom line is, estimate how much you will need & make it to your liking. Thin it with mayo & milk if you are looking for a thinner dressing. Make it thicker ( dressing & blue cheese only) for dipping. Serving size is arbitrary based on the ingredients amounts you decide to use.

Time 15m

Yield 2-4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 ounces creamy caesar salad dressing, jar Marie's All Natural brand found in the refrigerated section
5 ounces crumbled blue cheese, I prefer Treasure Cave Brand
1 tablespoon milk, used to thin the dressing
1 tablespoon real Hellmann's mayonnaise, lite works, used to stretch the amount of dressing (optional)
pepper, as needed

Steps:

  • Decide how much Caesar dressing you will need.
  • Add enough blue cheese crumbles to suit your taste. I like LOTS!
  • If your dressing is too thick, add milk to thin or mayonnaise to stretch the amount of dressing. Mix, check for seasoning & adding more blue cheese or creamy caesar.
  • Add pepper to taste.
  • Combine all ingredients, but don't smooth out the chunks of blue cheese. That would be criminal!
  • Serve and enjoy!

ULTIMATE CHEESE DIP

Ultimate Cheese Dip image

This cheese dip is easily the best that I've ever had, and being a college student I've had quite a lot. The only reason there are ever leftovers is because this dip is so delicious and filling. I recommend Mission® or On The Border® chips because this dip is rather thick and you need a durable chip that wont break off too easy!

ULTIMATE CHEESE DIP

Ultimate Cheese Dip image

My friend Cheryl gave me this recipe - the saying is around our town if Cheryl makes it, it's got to be good. She first made it for a superbowl party. My team wasn't playing, I was just there for the food:) .... and boy was it worth it! And to top it off it's SUPER easy, but tastes like you labored. If you don't like watching sports on TV, my suggestion is to make this, set it out for the guys mezmerized by your tv, and hit the mall. Chances are you'll be back before they even know you are gone. This recipe is simple, make it once, then next time, change it up, add different cheeses, or whatever strikes your fancy. But made as written..............yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Time 1h

Yield 6-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 loaf round bread, unsliced.. we like to use sourdough.. but up to you what you like
8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temp
8 ounces monterey jack cheese, shredded. I think used a bit more (use pepperjack)
8 ounces sour cream
8 sliced bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
4 -5 green onions, finely chopped
melted butter

Steps:

  • Cut top off of bread -- scoop out bread inside to make bowl (save the bread)
  • mix all other ingredients in a medium size bowl. Brush inside of bread bowl with butter. Pour/scrap cheese mixture into bowl. Brush outside of bread bowl with more melted butter, place bread top over mixture, wrap in foil and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes -- unwrap and continue baking til cheese mix is hot all the way through.
  • Use reserved bread to dip. also as the amount of dip gets lower inside. Cut off pieces of the bowl to use. I think we ended up having to use part of a sour dough baguette to have enough.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality cheese. This will make a big difference in the flavor of the dip.
  • Shred the cheese yourself. Pre-shredded cheese contains additives that can affect the texture and flavor of the dip.
  • Don't overcook the cheese. The dip should be melted and smooth, but not browned.
  • Add some spices or herbs to taste. This will give the dip a more complex flavor.
  • Serve the dip with a variety of dippers, such as chips, vegetables, or bread.

Conclusion:

This ultimate cheese dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. With its creamy texture, cheesy flavor, and customizable toppings, this dip is sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy snack or appetizer, give this ultimate cheese dip a try. You won't be disappointed!
