Steps:

  • Combine the pasta and broccoli with the cheese sauce. Add a little pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
  • Transfer to a baking dish and top with grated cheddar cheese. Place in a preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.

AWESOME BROCCOLI-CHEESE CASSEROLE

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole image

My mom used to make this easy recipe every Thanksgiving when I was little. We kids could never get enough! It was our very favorite Thanksgiving vegetable. If you have children, or have some coming to visit you as guests this Thanksgiving, I guarantee that they will eat (and enjoy) this veggie dish! Even though I rarely cook with canned condensed soups, I still make this yummy broccoli casserole during the holiday season. It's fabulous with a Christmas ham and potatoes au gratin too. Mmmmmmm!

Tips:

  • Fresh Ingredients: Always use fresh broccoli and cheese for the best flavor and texture.
  • Cook the Pasta Al Dente: The pasta should be cooked al dente, meaning it still has a slight bite to it. This will help it hold its shape in the casserole.
  • Use a Variety of Cheeses: Feel free to experiment with different types of cheeses in this recipe. A blend of cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan is a classic combination, but you could also try using Gruyère, Swiss, or Fontina.
  • Don't Overcook the Casserole: The casserole should be baked just until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Overcooking will make the pasta mushy.
  • Serve Immediately: This casserole is best served fresh out of the oven. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

This Two-Cheese Pasta and Broccoli Casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover pasta and broccoli. With its creamy cheese sauce, tender pasta, and crisp-tender broccoli, this casserole is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
