1 box cake mix, german chocolate
14 oz vanilla caramels
3/4 c butter
1/2 c evaporated milk
1 c chocolate chips
1 c chopped nuts
1 can(s) chocolate icing
1/2 c pecan pieces

Steps:

  • 1. Mix cake mix according to directions. Pour half the batter in 13x9 inch cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Melt caramels butter, and milk. Pour over top of partially baked cake. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Pour remaining cake batter over mixture covering caramel mixture; chips and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for another 20 minutes.
  • 2. When cake is cooled, I frost with icing and add pecan pieces.

1/4 cup Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting (from 16 oz container)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • In large bowl, beat dry pudding mix and milk with whisk 2 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup of the caramel sauce. Stir in cake mix and 1 cup of the chocolate chips until well blended. Spread batter evenly in pan. Sprinkle pecans and remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips over top.

Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
1 bag (14 oz) caramels
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chopped pecans
1 bag (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
Ice cream or Whipped cream, if desired
Caramel and chocolate toppings, if desired

1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
¾ cup butter
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

6 tablespoons unsalted butter
14 ounces individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
1 cup chopped pecans
3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
½ cup white sugar
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
2 eggs
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter one 9 inch springform pan.
