TURKEY, CRANBERRY AND CREAM CHEESE SANDWICH WITH SPROUTS AND SUNFLOWER SEEDS RECIPE - (4.6/5)

Turkey, Cranberry and Cream Cheese Sandwich with Sprouts and Sunflower Seeds Recipe - (4.6/5) image

Provided by á-80743

Number Of Ingredients 7

Sandwich bread
Sliced turkey meat, to taste
Cream cheese, to taste
Cranberry sauce, to taste
Alfalfa sprouts, to taste
Roasted sunflower seeds, to taste
Mayonnaise, to taste

Steps:

  • Smear some mayonnaise on bottom bread slice and season with a small amount of salt. Layer turkey on top of mayonnaise,. To slice turkey, remove the breast from the turkey and then slice perpendicular to the bottom where the bone was, results in great, tender slices of meat. Either spread soft cream cheese or place slices from regular cream cheese on top of turkey, don't skimp here. Dollop generous spoonful of cranberry sauce on top of turkey and spread to edges. I use whatever version I've made for the holiday, including my Merlot, Molasses and Toasted Walnut version. Put a small handful of alfalfa sprouts on top of sauce. Sprinkle with toasted sunflower seeds and top with bread slice. Cut in half and serve with chips and or pickle spears.

TURKEY SANDWICHES WITH DRIED CRANBERRIES AND CREAM CHEESE

Turkey Sandwiches With Dried Cranberries and Cream Cheese image

Local recipe. Local [stolen] recipe... Original sandwich is served on sourdough bread although multi-grain is good, too! Use either your own roasted turkey or rotisserie roasted turkey from the grocery store, but NOT packaged deli meat. The cashews are stirred into the cream cheese mixture in the original recipe but I added them separately.

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 20m

Yield 4 sandwiches

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 slices sourdough bread or 8 slices multigrain bread, toasted
4 slices roasted turkey breast (about 12 ounces)
1/4 cup cashews, toasted and coarsely chopped
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/4 cup dried cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried sage or 1 teaspoon fresh sage, minced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
salt, to taste
fresh cracked black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • *In a bowl combine the cream cheese spread ingredients.
  • Toast the bread; spread all slices with the cream cheese mixture. Garnish with the cashews.
  • Add one slice of turkey to each sandwich.
  • Put bread slices together and cut in half or quarters.
  • *TIP: If the cranberries have hardened, place in a small bowl with hot water. Soak for about 2-3 minutes or until softened. Drain.

TURKEY CRANBERRY SANDWICH

Turkey Cranberry Sandwich image

I think that my three favorite things about Thanksgiving are family time, the meal and LEFTOVERS! This is the perfect sandwich to refuel after shopping. I really liked the cream cheese addition. It really complements the turkey and cranberry.

Provided by Vickie Parks

Categories     Sandwiches

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 slice bread
2 Tbsp cream cheese, softened
2 Tbsp cranberry sauce (I use my homemade cranberry relish)
1 Tbsp low-fat mayonnaise (optional--I usually omit it, but most of my family prefers it)
2 slice cooked turkey (great use of your leftover thanksgiving turkey)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 romaine lettuce leaf

Steps:

  • 1. Lightly toast both slices of bread. Spread cream cheese on both halves while bread is still hot, so the cream cheese melts justly slightly. Add mayonnaise, if you wish.
  • 2. Spread cranberry sauce on both slices of toasted bread with cranberry sauce (or cranberry relish).
  • 3. Top one toasted slice with cooked turkey meat and season with salt and pepper. Then top with Romaine lettuce leaf. Place the other slice of bread over the Romaine lettuce. Cut the sandwich in half diagonally.
  • 4. Serve with re-heated leftover Thanksgiving stuffing or re-heated mashed potatoes and gravy.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality bread: The bread is the foundation of your sandwich, so make sure to use a thick, sturdy bread that can hold up to the fillings.
  • Spread the cream cheese evenly: Use a knife or a spoon to spread the cream cheese evenly over the bread. This will help to prevent the sandwich from becoming soggy.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ingredients will give your sandwich the best flavor. If you can, use organic or locally sourced ingredients.
  • Don't overstuff the sandwich: It's important to not overstuff the sandwich, or it will be difficult to eat. Add just enough fillings so that the sandwich is satisfying, but not too heavy.
  • Grill or toast the sandwich: Grilling or toasting the sandwich will help to melt the cheese and make the sandwich more flavorful. If you're using a toaster, be sure to use a low setting so that the bread doesn't burn.
