1 pound lean ground turkey
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fennel seed
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Dash each white pepper, cayenne pepper, ground allspice, ground cloves and ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Shape into eight 2-1/2-in. patties. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. , In a large skillet coated with cooking spray, cook patties over medium heat for 4-6 minutes on each side or until no longer pink. , Freeze option: To freeze, wrap each patty in plastic wrap; transfer to a resealable plastic freezer bag. I was suprised how spicy and flavorful these were. My husband really enjoyed them, and he hates turkey and all forms of fruit combined with meat. Go figure.

1 large fuji apple
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/4 lbs lean ground turkey
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh sage
1 3/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon dry crushed red pepper
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 large egg, beaten
2 teaspoons olive oil (for cooking)

Steps:

  • Peel and core apple; coarsely shred apple with a hand grater. Place in a wire mesh strainer; drain well, pressing gently with paper towels.
  • Combine all ingredients except oil; stir until blended.
  • Shape mixture into 16 patties (about 2 tablespoons each).
  • Place patties on a wax paper-lined baking sheet.
  • Cover and chill 8 hours or overnight.
