1 teaspoon ground cumin
sea salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Combine turkey, black beans, onion, tomato, parsley, egg white, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper together in a bowl until well combined; form into 4 patties.

Tips:

  • Properly Cook the Black Beans: Ensure the black beans are cooked thoroughly before using them in the burgers. Undercooked beans can be hard and unpleasant to eat.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better the burgers will taste. Use ripe avocados, fresh cilantro, and crisp lettuce.
  • Don't Overmix the Burger Mixture: Overmixing can make the burgers tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Shape the Burgers Gently: Be gentle when shaping the burgers to avoid compacting them. This will help them stay tender and juicy.
  • Cook the Burgers Over Medium Heat: Cooking the burgers over medium heat will help them cook evenly without burning.
  • Don't Overcook the Burgers: Overcooked burgers will be dry and tough. Cook them just until they are cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Serve the Burgers Immediately: Turkey black bean burgers are best served immediately after cooking. The flavors will be at their peak and the burgers will be nice and juicy.

Conclusion:

Turkey black bean burgers are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional beef burgers. They are packed with protein, fiber, and flavor. They are also relatively easy to make, making them a great option for busy weeknights. Serve them on their own or with your favorite burger toppings. These burgers are also a great way to use up leftover turkey. If you have some cooked turkey on hand, simply shred it and add it to the burger mixture. You can also use canned or frozen black beans in this recipe. Just be sure to rinse and drain them before using.
