Tips:
- Choose the right type of jalapeños: For this recipe, it's recommended to use medium-sized jalapeños, as they have a good balance of heat and flavor. Avoid using very large jalapeños, as they can be too spicy.
- Wear gloves: Jalapeños can be spicy, so it's important to wear gloves when handling them. This will help protect your hands from the capsaicin, which is the compound that gives chili peppers their heat.
- Remove the seeds and ribs: To reduce the heat of the jalapeños, you can remove the seeds and ribs. Use a sharp knife to cut open the jalapeños lengthwise and scoop out the seeds and ribs. Be careful not to cut yourself.
- Stuff the jalapeños: Stuff the jalapeños with a mixture of cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, and green onions. You can also add other ingredients, such as diced tomatoes, cooked ground beef, or cooked shrimp.
- Wrap the jalapeños in bacon: Wrap each stuffed jalapeño in a slice of bacon. Secure the bacon with a toothpick.
- Bake the jalapeños: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the bacon-wrapped jalapeños on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the jalapeños are tender.
