TUNA WITH A TWIST

Tuna With a Twist image

This is a recipe I found on the net and saved to try. It was originally from a caterer named Barbie. I love it. The secret ingredients that make this so yummy are the curry and parmesan. ( The dill is great too.) Now I never put either of those in my tuna before but it mixed oh so well. Try it on crackers or in a sandwich. Our family gobbles it up. Enjoy. ChefDLH

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 (6 1/2 ounce) cans tuna, drained
1/2 cup sliced ripe olives
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup cold water
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (about 6 oz.)

  • Mix baking mix and 1/2 cup cold water until soft dough forms: beat vigorously 20 strokes.
  • Gently smooth dough into ball on floured cloth-covered board.
  • Knead 5 times.
  • Roll dough into rectangle, 14 x 11"; place on cookie sheet.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality tuna: Opt for sushi-grade or sashimi-grade tuna for the best flavor and texture.
  • Use fresh herbs and spices: Fresh herbs like cilantro, parsley, and basil add a burst of flavor to the dish. Don't forget to use a variety of spices like cumin, chili powder, and paprika for a well-rounded taste.
  • Don't overcook the tuna: Tuna is a delicate fish that can easily become dry and tough if overcooked. Cook it quickly over high heat or use a sous vide method for precise temperature control.
  • Pair tuna with complementary flavors: Tuna pairs well with a variety of flavors, including citrus, soy, sesame, and avocado. Experiment with different combinations to find your favorite.
  • Serve tuna with a variety of sides: Tuna can be served with a variety of sides, such as rice, quinoa, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad. Choose sides that complement the flavors of the tuna and create a balanced meal.
