My husband and I love it and I make them for 2 but my kids don't like tuna fish. It is so easy to make it. It is so delicious and tasty.

Categories     Tuna Salads

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 can(s) (6 ounces) light water-packed tuna, drained and flaked
5 Tbsp mayonnaise
1/4 c celery, chopped
2 Tbsp green pepper, chopped
1 Tbsp onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp soy sauce
dash white pepper
lettuce leaves
2 medium tomatoes

Steps:

  • 1. In a small bowl, combine the first eight ingredients; chill. Line two serving plates with lettuce. Cut tomatoes, but not all the way through, into six wedges; place on lettuce and separate wedges slightly. Spoon into the center of each tomato.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, firm tomatoes for the cups. This will help them hold their shape and prevent them from becoming too mushy.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the tomatoes. This will help prevent them from tearing.
  • Scoop out the tomato pulp carefully, leaving the shell intact. You can use a spoon or a melon baller for this.
  • Season the tuna salad to taste. You can add more mayonnaise, salt, pepper, or other seasonings as desired.
  • Chill the tuna salad before serving. This will help the flavors to meld and the salad to firm up.

Conclusion:

Tuna salad in tomato cups is a light, refreshing, and flavorful dish that is perfect for a summer lunch or dinner. It is also a great way to use up leftover tuna. The combination of the creamy tuna salad and the juicy tomatoes is delicious, and the presentation is sure to impress your guests.
