TROPICAL DETOX SMOOTHIE

Tropical Detox Smoothie image

The inspiration for this smoothie comes from my favorite smoothie at Tropical Smoothie Café: the Detox Island Green Smoothie. Pineapple, Mango, Banana, Spinach, Kale, Fresh Ginger, that's it! It has the lowest calorie and sugar count on their smoothie menu. It's naturally sweetened from the fresh fruit and no dairy is added. My recipe does not include kale, however, the taste is still amazing and fresh!

Tips:

  • Choose ripe fruits: Using ripe fruits not only adds natural sweetness to the smoothie, but also provides a boost of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
  • Incorporate leafy greens: Leafy greens like spinach, kale, or romaine lettuce add a nutritional punch to the smoothie without overpowering the taste. They are packed with fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
  • Add healthy fats: Healthy fats from sources like avocado, chia seeds, or nut butter help keep you feeling full and satisfied after drinking the smoothie. They also aid in the absorption of certain nutrients.
  • Use unsweetened plant-based milk: Unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk are great alternatives to cow's milk and provide a creamy texture without added sugar.
  • Add some spices: Spices like ginger, turmeric, or cinnamon can add a unique flavor dimension to the smoothie and also have potential health benefits.
