3 cloves garlic, (chopped)
2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 teaspoons dried crushed rosemary
1¼ cups chopped fresh pineapple

Categories     Pineapple

Time 55m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 16

1/3 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon onion salt
cayenne pepper
4 boneless pork chops
salt and pepper
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup pineapple tidbits
hot cooked rice

Steps:

  • In a medium size pot, add the first 8 ingredients; stir to combine.
  • Cover and simmer over medium heat, for about 10 minutes or until sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove sauce from heat and set aside.
  • Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, cook chops, onion, and garlic in oil until the chops are browned.
  • Add water and reserved sauce.
  • Cover and cook on medium-low for 20-25 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, adding more water if needed.
  • Stir in pineapple and heat through.
  • Serve over hot cooked rice.

Tips:

  • To ensure the pork chops are cooked evenly, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. It should reach 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare, 155°F (68°C) for medium, and 165°F (74°C) for well done.
  • If you don't have a meat thermometer, you can check the doneness of the pork chops by cutting into one. The meat should be slightly pink in the center for medium-rare, and no longer pink for well done.
  • To prevent the pork chops from sticking to the grill, brush them with a little oil before cooking. You can also use a non-stick grilling spray.
  • For a more flavorful grilled pork chop, marinate them in a mixture of olive oil, garlic, herbs, and spices for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Serve grilled pork chops with your favorite sides, such as rice, potatoes, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

Grilled pork chops are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner. They are easy to make and can be cooked in a variety of ways. Whether you prefer them grilled, pan-fried, or baked, pork chops are a great option for a quick and easy meal.
