Number Of Ingredients 6

20 oz cubed or crushed pineapple
15 oz tropical fruit
1 pkg orange cake mix
1 1/2 stick butter
1/2 c instant oatmeal
1 c coconut flakes

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350. Dump both of the fruits and their juices into a 9x12 pyrex baking dish. Pour the dry cake mix on top of the fruit and spread out evenly.
  • 2. Mix oatmeal, coconut and sprinkle over cake mix with fingers. Melt butter and pour on top evenly. It should cover the entire cake mix. Bake for 1 hour and serve with ice cream.

1 box orange cake mix
1 1/2 stick butter melted
1/2 c instant oatmeal * see note*
1 c coconut

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350
  • 2. Dump both of the fruits & their juices into a 9 x 12 Pyrex baking dish. I cut the larger pieces up
  • 3. Pour the dry cake mix on top of the fruit & spread out evenly
  • 4. Mix oatmeal & coconut & sprinkle over cake mixture with fingers.
  • 5. Melt butter & pour on top evenly. It should cover the entire cake mix.
  • 6. Bake for one hour & serve with ice cream.
  • 7. (Note: I used a small pkg of instant apple cinnamon oatmeal..yummy)

Tips:

  • Use a 9x13 inch baking dish for the cake.
  • Make sure the butter is melted before adding it to the cake mix.
  • Do not overmix the cake batter, as this will result in a tough cake.
  • The cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
