ORANGE CAKE
This recipe yields 2 loaves or as my mom used to make it - one bundt cake. I find that it's not easy to remove the cake from the bundt pan because it's a very moist cake unless you butter and flour the pan well, so I prefer using a loaf pan and I think it looks beautiful. If you only want to make one loaf, you can halve the recipe.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. Grease a 12-cup (10-inch) Bundt pan or two standard loaf pans (either 9 x 13 inch pans or 8½ x 4½ inch pans for taller cakes) and set aside.
- In a medium bowl whisk together flour and baking powder. Set aside.
- In a mixer bowl fitted with whisk attachment, whisk together eggs and sugar on high speed until pale and fluffy, about 5 minutes. On low speed and with the mixer running, add oil slowly until combined. Add orange juice, zest, and vanilla extract and keep whisking slowly until combined. Add flour mixture and whisk just until combined. Don't overmix.
- Pour batter into prepared pan/pans. Bake for 50-60 minutes for the bundt pan or 40-50 minutes for the loaves or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. If the top is browning quickly while baking, cover loosely with aluminum foil. Allow cake/cakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Store cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For the best moist texture, the cake is best served at room temperature. This cake freezes well so if you make two loaves, cover well, and freeze one of them in the freezer for up to 2 months, then thaw overnight in the fridge

ROSE'S DOWNY YELLOW BUTTER CAKE
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter and flour the sides of an 8 by 3-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with a parchment paper round that has been cut to fit.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, 1/2 cup (4.3 oz / 121 g) of the milk, and the vanilla.
- Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, and mix on low speed for 30 seconds. Add the remaining 1/4 cup (2.1 oz / 60 g) of milk and mix on low speed until moistened, about 15 seconds. Add the butter and beat on medium speed for 1 1/2 minutes or until smooth and aerated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Add the egg mixture in 3 batches, mixing on medium speed for 20 seconds and then scraping down the bowl after each addition.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth the surface with an offset spatula. Bake, rotating the pan midway through baking, until the cake springs back when gently pressed in the center, 55 to 60 minutes. You can also test for doneness by listening to the cake: Remove the pan from the oven, set it on a wire rack, lower your ear to the cake, and listen. If you hear the cake snap, crackle, and pop, it needs a few more minutes in the oven. If it's quiet, it's done.
- Let the cake cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes, and then run an offset spatula around the inside of the pan. Invert the cake onto the wire rack, lift off the pan, and remove the parchment. When the cake is cool enough to handle, after about 20 minutes, reinvert it so the top is facing up. Let cool completely, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 3 hours before assembling.
Tips:
- Use fresh oranges. Fresh oranges provide the best flavor for this cake. If you don't have fresh oranges, you can use bottled or frozen orange juice, but the flavor will not be as good.
- Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the cake in a preheated oven. This will help the cake rise evenly.
- Cool the cake completely before frosting it. This will help the frosting set properly.
- Store the cake in a cool, dry place. The cake will keep for up to 3 days at room temperature, or for up to 1 week in the refrigerator.
Conclusion:
Triple Orange Butter Cake is a delicious and easy-to-make cake that is perfect for any occasion. With its moist and flavorful orange cake layers, creamy orange buttercream frosting, and candied orange peel topping, this cake is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
