Yield 4 dozen

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 cups raisins
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp grated lemon peel
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cup oats (quick or old-fashioned), uncooked
1 cup flour
1 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Combine raisins, condensed milk, lemon peel and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, just until mixture begins to bubble. Remove from heat; cool slight; set aside. Beat margarine, sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Add remaining ingredients. Blend until evenly mixed and crumbly. Reserve 2 cups. Press remaining mixture onto bottom of greased 13x9 pan. Spread raisin mixture to within 1/2 in of edge. Sprinkle with the remaining oat mixture. Pat lightly. Bake 25 -30 min or until golden brown. Cool completely. Cut into 1x2 in bars.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. This means using real butter, pure vanilla extract, and semisweet chocolate chips.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help to incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a lighter, more tender bar.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the bars tough.
  • Press the batter firmly into the prepared pan. This will help to prevent the bars from crumbling when they are cut.
  • Bake the bars until they are just set. Overbaking will make the bars dry and crumbly.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help to prevent them from falling apart.

Conclusion:

Triple Good Bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With their rich chocolate flavor and gooey marshmallow filling, these bars are sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give Triple Good Bars a try.
