Tips:

  • To ensure a flaky crust, use cold butter and work it into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Avoid overworking the dough, as this can result in a tough crust.
  • For juicy blueberries, toss them with a bit of sugar and cornstarch before adding them to the pie filling. This will help thicken the filling and prevent it from being too runny.
  • If you don't have a pie plate, you can use a 9-inch springform pan. Just be sure to line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper to prevent the crust from sticking.
  • To prevent the crust from burning, cover the edges of the pie with foil during baking. You can remove the foil during the last 15 minutes of baking to allow the crust to brown.
  • Let the pie cool completely before slicing and serving. This will allow the filling to set and the crust to firm up.

Conclusion:

With its flaky crust, juicy blueberry filling, and stunning lattice top, this topless blueberry pie is sure to be a hit at your next potluck or gathering. So gather your ingredients and preheat your oven, because it's time to bake a pie that will knock your socks off!
