MACARONI SALAD WITH BASIL DRESSING

Macaroni Salad with Basil Dressing image

When my husband and I planned our first garden, we overdid the tomato and zucchini plants. By the end of harvest, I was at my wit's end wondering what else I could do with all those vegetables (sound familiar?). That's when my sister and I came up with this great-tasting salad. Today, even though we have our garden under control, we still make this popular dish.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, flavorful tomatoes. This will ensure that your salad has the best possible flavor.
  • Use fresh basil. Dried basil will not provide the same flavor as fresh basil.
  • Cook the pasta al dente. This means that it should be cooked until it is tender, but still has a slight bite to it.
  • Don't overdress the salad. A little dressing goes a long way.
  • Chill the salad before serving. This will help the flavors to meld and will make the salad more refreshing.

Conclusion:

Tomato basil macaroni salad is a classic summer dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its combination of sweet tomatoes, fresh basil, and tangy dressing, this salad is sure to be a hit at your next picnic, potluck, or barbecue.
