TOLL HOUSE MARBLE SQUARES, MARY KINNEY CASEY

Toll House Marble Squares, Mary Kinney Casey image

This is one of Mary's go-to recipes to quickly prepare for welcomed last minute guests. Mary loved people. The more people, the happier she was. This was the note on the recipe from her daughter Sherry. I have many fond memories of big family get togethers at Mary & Cal's.

Tips:

  • Use room temperature ingredients: This will help the cookies bake evenly and prevent them from becoming dry.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing will make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: This will help the cookies keep their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set: Overbaking will make the cookies dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting: This will help the frosting set properly.
