Steps:
- 1. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, combine butter, sugars, and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Add egg; beat well.
- 2. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- 3. Spread into a lightly greased 9x13x2" pan. Bake in a 375-degree oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Tips:
- Use high-quality ingredients. The better the ingredients, the better the bars will taste. Use real butter, not margarine, and good-quality chocolate chips.
- Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the bars tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the bars until they are just set. Overbaking will make the bars dry and crumbly. Bake the bars for the amount of time specified in the recipe, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
- Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. Cutting the bars while they are still warm will cause them to crumble. Let the bars cool completely, then cut them into squares or bars.
- Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature. The bars will keep for up to 3 days at room temperature, or for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
Conclusion:
Toll House Butter Toffee Bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With their rich, buttery flavor and sweet toffee topping, these bars are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
