Steps:
- Cream together the tofu, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper and hot sauce until fairly smooth, and set aside. In a medium bowl combine the celery, onion and salmon. Gently mix in the tofu mixture. Adjust seasoning. Serve on whole wheat bread or inside a pita.
Tips:
- Choose the right tofu. For this recipe, it's best to use extra-firm tofu. This type of tofu has a firm texture that will hold up well in the salad.
- Press the tofu. Pressing the tofu helps to remove excess moisture, which will result in a more flavorful and firm salad.
- Flake the tofu. Use a fork or your fingers to flake the tofu into small pieces. This will help it to absorb the dressing and other ingredients in the salad.
- Use a variety of vegetables. This recipe calls for a variety of vegetables, including cucumber, red onion, and celery. You can also add other vegetables, such as carrots, bell peppers, or tomatoes.
- Make the dressing ahead of time. The dressing for this salad can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. This will save you time when you're ready to assemble the salad.
Conclusion:
This tofu salmon salad is a healthy and delicious meal that's perfect for lunch or dinner. It's packed with protein, vegetables, and healthy fats, and it's low in calories and carbohydrates. Plus, it's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give this tofu salmon salad a try.
