½ cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Adjust oven rack to center position and heat oven to 400 degrees. Place butter in a baking pan large enough to hold the pears in a single layer: set in the heating oven until it melts.

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high. Add pears, one cut side down, and cook until browned, then reduce heat to medium and cook 3 minutes. 2 tablespoons orange juice
6 sprigs of fresh mint, for garnish
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 cup molasses
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1 cup hot water
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons water
1/4 cup butter
